Mary Ward Journey

Loreto Formation Framework

The Loreto Formation Framework was developed to strengthen formation processes across boards and committees of all ministries governed by the Loreto Province of Australia and South East Asia, including the Province itself, Loreto Ministries Ltd, Mary Ward International Australia, and Loreto Vietnam.

The Framework provides the philosophical context, rationale and objectives of Loreto formation and highlights nine topic areas under the headings: Story (ST), Spirituality (SP), and Scope (SC).

Throughout 2021, suites of resources and processes for the first three topics were developed.

  • Topic 1 | SP1:  Mary Ward’s Spirituality
  • Topic 2 | ST1:  The Institute Story
  • Topic 3 | SC1:  Leadership

Topics 1 through 3 for 2022 are published below.

  • Topic 1 | ST2: Province Story
  • Topic 2 | SP2: Discernment
  • Topic 3 | SC3: Contemporary Challenges

The Loreto Formation Framework and accompanying resources are a starting point for developing student and staff formation programs in all Loreto Province ministries.

For support with the implementation of the Loreto Formation Framework in your local context, please contact Loreto Ministries’ Director of Mission & Identity, Carolyn Young or Director of Education, Paul Ould.
