As we enter the second quarter of 2020, we both farewell and welcome two valued contributors to the Loreto Vietnam Advisory Board. We farewell Dr. Roderick Crouch as Board Chair of Loreto Vietnam as he continues on his journey to Korea in June 2020. We thank Rod for his generous contribution and leadership over the past three years. Rod has demonstrated a true dedication to providing educational opportunities to disadvantaged children and communities in Vietnam, supporting 42 projects that have positively impacted the lives of more than 25,000 children. In a letter Rod recently wrote to Loreto Vietnam he describes his experience as a challenging journey but to see the smiling faces of children when getting new school packs, bicycles and helmets, studying in new and safe schools, enjoying books and computer lessons makes it all worthwhile. Rod’s commitment to Loreto Vietnam truly demonstrated our core Loreto values and shared belief that education is a fundamental human right.
“There are few greater purposes than to give children hope and opportunity.”
– Dr. Roderick Crouch –
We welcome Mr. Jason Turnbull as the new Board Chair of Loreto Vietnam. Jason is an internationally experienced business executive, who has a depth of work experience across a range of areas in strategic leadership, operational management and stakeholder engagement. With an MBA and as Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD) Jason’s insights, skills and knowledge are well suited to the work of Loreto Vietnam. Jason has a strong commitment to community giving programs, particularly to those relating to the development of children in disadvantaged communities. In a recent letter to Loreto Vietnam, Jason speaks of his deep care for the youth of Vietnam and acknowledges the power of education to bring about social change for these young people and their families. Jason has already collaborated on the development of a refreshed Loreto Vietnam vision and strategy to enable their maximum reach and impact with children and communities most in need. Particularly during this current time of the global coronavirus pandemic Jason reminds us that our “much welcomed, continued support is imperative to Loreto Vietnam’s success.” We welcome Jason to this role and look forward to all he will bring to Loreto Vietnam. With Warm Regards, Cate Sydes CEO, Loreto Ministries April, 2020
