On behalf of the Loreto network, I would like to welcome Mrs Michelle Brodrick to our ‘circle of friends’ as she commences as Principal at Loreto College, Ballarat.

Michelle is a highly experienced educational leader who has held multiple senior leadership positions including Acting Principal and Deputy Principal (Learning & Identity) at St Joseph’s College (Geelong) and Deputy Principal at Clonard College (Geelong). Michelle has also worked internationally at Holy Spirit High School, a Catholic secondary school for young women in Seto, Japan and has taught at Catholic schools in Victoria and the Northern Territory. Michelle is no stranger to Ballarat, having completed her initial teacher education at Ballarat and completing one of her first practicum experiences at Loreto College. Michelle holds an Executive Master of Business Administration, a Master of Education, a Bachelor of Arts, and a Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary).

Despite the challenges presented by COVID-19, Michelle has already successfully met with the Leadership Team, School Board directors, middle leaders, members of staff, students, and parents at Loreto College Ballarat. Michelle is enthusiastic to work with the College community and broader Ballarat community to promote the vision, mission, values and educational endeavours of Loreto College.

Throughout her career, Michelle has developed strong and genuine relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community. One of her key priorities for Term 3 is to establish positive relationships with the students, staff and families of Loreto College Ballarat.

Michelle brings a wonderful breadth of knowledge, experience and energy to her leadership role and is certain to lead Loreto College Ballarat in a way that continues to provide young women with positive, challenging and rewarding school experiences.

I offer Michelle the ongoing support and encouragement of the Loreto Ministries team and the wider Loreto network.

Michelle, you are most welcome, and we ask God’s blessing on you, your husband, Richard, and your adult children, Olivia and Jack, as you commence your Principalship at Loreto College Ballarat.

Warm Regards,

Cate Sydes
