About the School

John XXIII College in Perth is an associated school of the Loreto network, with deep roots in the educational mission established by the Loreto Sisters in Western Australia. The Loreto Sisters first arrived in Perth in 1897 and founded schools that would shape Catholic education in the state for generations. In 1977, Loreto Convent Claremont and St Louis School amalgamated to form John XXIII College, bringing together the traditions of Mary Ward and St Ignatius Loyola in one educational community.

Today, John XXIII College continues to honour its Loreto heritage through its commitment to faith, justice, service and the education of young people. As a member of both the Loreto Network and the Jesuit and Companion Schools Australasia network, the College maintains strong connections with Loreto schools across Australia, participating in shared formation, leadership and social justice initiatives inspired by the vision of Mary Ward.
