Loreto Ministries announces inaugural Mary Wright Scholarship Programme recipients
Loreto Ministries is pleased to formally announce the inaugural recipients of the Mary Wright Scholarship Programme, established to support leadership formation and strengthen leadership capacity across Loreto schools. The programme includes two streams: the Sr Mary Wright Leadership Scholarship, supporting professional growth and leadership development within Loreto schools, and the Sr Mary Wright Canon Law Immersion, supporting formation in Canon Law and Catholic governance for those serving Loreto schools and ministries.
Named in honour of Sr Mary Wright IBVM, whose leadership and service made a lasting contribution to Loreto schools in Australia and internationally, the programme supports individuals to undertake study and formation aligned with the mission and values of Loreto in the Mary Ward tradition. Sr Mary Wright was deeply committed to forming leaders within schools, and her legacy continues to shape Loreto education today.
Following a strong response from across the network, recipients were selected in November 2025 for study commencing in 2026. The selection panel comprised Loreto Ministries Stewards and members of the Wright family, reflecting the scholarship’s deep connection to her legacy.
Margaret Kennedy, Chair of Loreto Ministries, reflected:
“This scholarship represents an important investment in the future leadership of Loreto schools. It honours Sr Mary Wright’s legacy by supporting leaders who will carry forward the mission with integrity, wisdom and courage.”
Loreto Ministries is pleased to announce the inaugural recipients:
